Johnny Depp asked Amber Heard’s sister to sign a NDA after striking her, court hears

Johnny Heard presented Amber Heard’s sister with a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to sign after he allegedly struck her during a fight, the court heard on Wednesday.

Whitney Henriquez, 34, was giving evidence in Virginia’s Fairfax County Courthouse when she recalled a fight between her sister and her former brother-in-law that allegedly took place in one of the actor’s Los Angeles penthouses in March 2015.

Ms Henriquez testified that she witnessed the formerly married couple physically attack each other, after the actor, 58, allegedly struck Ms Henriquez in the back.

The witness claimed to the court the argument began when Ms Heard, 36, woke her in the middle of the night with concerns her then-husband was cheating on her.

Ms Henriquez alleges she went to speak the Edward Scissorhands actor regarding her sister’s suspicions and after denying the claims at first, the actor said: “Amber pushed me. Amber made me do it. Of course I’m cheating.”

The witness went on to claim that at that point, her sister appeared on a mezzanine area and a verbal argument began.

Ms Henriquez continued to testify that she and Mr Depp’s nurse, Debbie Lloyd then went upstairs in the penthouse, where she alleges the actor launched a can at Red Bull at the nurse – something she claims Ms Lloyd didn’t appear to notice – before striking her.

“I’m standing up there at the top of the stairs with my back to the stairs and that’s when Johnny runs up the stairs,” she told the court on Wednesday.

“I’m facing Amber. He comes up behind me and he strikes me in the back.”

At that point, Ms Henriquez recalls hearing her sister yelling “Don’t hit my f***ing sister” and then “smacks him”.

Mr Depp then “repeatedly” his Ms Heard in the face, the witness claimed in court when giving evidence.

The actor then allegedly stormed off and yelled: “I hate you. I hate you both. You f**king c***s.”

Following the alleged incident, Mr Depp and Ms Heard slept in separate rooms – with the Aquaman actress spending the night with her younger sister.

The next day, Ms Henriquez claims she discovered her sister’s closet “completely destroyed” – with pictures shown to the court.

Shortly after the alleged incident, Ms Henriquez claims Mr Depp left a non-disclosure agreement out for her to sign, but she refused.

The actress grew emotional in the courtroom on Wednesday

“It was after this point that Johnny had accused me of selling stories to the media, which is absolutely untrue,” she added during her testimony on Wednesday.

Mr Depp is suing Ms Heard for alleged defamation over an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, in which she stated she was a victim of domestic abuse.

The article did not mention the actor by name, but Mr Depp argues that he has lost work and been financially impacted by the piece.

Ms Heard is countersuing her ex-husband for $100million (£81million).

The trial continues.
