Emmerdale actress Anna Nightingale has addressed fan theory that Andrea Tate is still alive.
Andrea was one of the four people that killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) has so far murdered in a reign of terror over the Yorkshire village – which has seen her end the lives of Ben Tucker, her friend Nadine and Leanna Cavanagh.
She also attempted to murder love rival Victoria Sugden, something which Andrea saw and thus led to the end of her own life as Meena covered up her crimes.
However, as she never actually died – and was just close to death – on screen, fans are convinced she may actually still be alive as Meena’s downfall starts to play out.
Meena is currently holding her sister Manpreet hostage and as Vinny is getting closer to the truth, Meena has now set her sights on finding a way to silence him.
Actress Paige – who plays the serial killer – has confirmed her exit from the ITV soap, but there is a huge storyline ahead for the murderer before she leaves the programme after 18 months.
Some fans are even convinced Andrea may return to bring Meena down.
“I think Andrea is still alive and helping police catch Meena. Last time we saw Andrea she was alive,” one soap fan suggested and it’s a theory that Anna thinks would be “epic”.
She told OK! magazine: “I love the fan theories. I don’t go looking for them, but when they get sent to me I love it. “That sounds pretty epic. I would love it.”
She added: “On both parts at the moment, it’s a chapter done, but you know never know, so never say never. That version of Andrea’s a reality sounds really cool.
“I’d love to imagine her in some witness protection house, plotting how she’s going to return not only for Kim but for Meena as well. I’d like to live in that world. That sounds amazing.”
Paige previously teased Meena’s downfall will come soon, as she said: “She’s having to juggle so many things while also having to keep her mask in the village, like we’ve seen Rishi is very suspicious of her, Liam is starting to get suspicious, there’s Billy and Dawn snooping around and with Vinny, that adds all of the Dingles into the mix.”
