Joe Swash shares emotional tribute to late dad as he celebrates Christmas with Rex

Joe Swash warmed the hearts of fans as he paid tribute to his late father while celebrating Christmas with his fiancee Stacey Solomon and their young son, Rex.

The 39-year-old former EastEnders star has two children with 32-year-old wife-to-be Stacey; a two-month-old daughter named Rose and their two-year-old son, Rex.

Reflecting on his own childhood, Joe explained that his favourite memories of his own father, London taxi driver Ricky, were around the festive period.

Sadly, Joe’s father passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition when the actor was just 11-years-old – and the star hopes to make happy memories for his own children at Christmas.

The adorable footage showed Stacey and Rex painting a hut together and using a drill to complete some DIY.

They also created a miniature post-box which they propped upwards and the video showed Rex sending a message to Santa Claus.

Meanwhile Stacey shared further information about the project she and Rex were working on together as she shared the footage on her own social media platforms.

She wrote: “After Rose was born Rex and me started a little project. So for a moment every day it was just us.

“We wanted to make a little grotto out of the shed for Santa to come and visit.

“We’ve been checking it every day this week to see if he was there and Today he finally came And it was the best evening ever.

“I have never seen Rex so excited and my heart will never be the same again.

“I love you Rexy so much I’ve had the most fun making our grotto. I know I’ve had another little pickle to look after too and you’ve just been such an amazing big brother.

“Always (Daddy was gutted he missed all the excitement).”
