The January window will be open in less than a fortnight and Liverpool are one of the most talked-about teams, as Jurgen Klopp looks to mount an assault on all fronts.

Coman has previously been linked to Liverpool

Reds dealt Coman blow

Bayern Munich have dealt a blow to Liverpool by opening talks with Kingsley Coman regarding a new contract, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has won a league title in all of his nine seasons as a professional, having also starred for Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, but the Frenchman has never truly established himself in Germany.

With his current deal expiring in 2023, Coman was interested in a move to the Premier League over the summer, with the Reds linked as a potential destination.

But Sportbild now claim that the winger and the Bundesliga behemoths have begun negotiations to renew terms.

Wolves star linked

Liverpool have been tagged as interested in 20-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Spanish news outlet El Nacional claim that the Anfield side are one of a number of clubs expressing an interest in the France under-21 international.

But not only are Klopp and co monitoring the starlet, as Real Madrid and Manchester City have reportedly shown interest.

Wolves are said to value the highly-rated Ait-Nouri at around €25million (£21m).

Van Dijk names successors

It may be a while off yet, but eventually Liverpool will have to start looking for someone to replace Virgil van Dijk.

But the 30-year-old centre-back, currently out after testing positive for coronavirus, has offered some advice by naming who should succeed him in the Anfield back line.

In a heartwarming video of Klopp and his players talking to patients of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, the Reds defender was sitting alongside team-mates Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez, saying: “These two are gonna take my place at one place though.”

The pair are well and truly van Dijk’s deputies right now, but if they can stay free of injuries unlike earlier in their careers, then Konate and Gomez’s futures at Anfield could be just glittering.
